Nuvali is the the country's first large scale integrated eco-community and it seems fitting that Nuvali is the best place to celebrate love for Planet Earth for the next two weekends dubbed as I Love Earth, that kicked off last May 14 at Nuvali's Evoliving Center. It was my second time in Nuvali but my experiences compared to the first one was more immersing.
One of the many things you can do in the event can start at the Doodle Wall. It's a graffiti wall where you can show your commitment to make a difference in our planet. You can also make a commitment by starting to recycle. There's a group there that can show you how to use used paper like the phone directory into recycled items you can use. They also provide recycled paper to make customized notebooks. Now, that's maximizing resources.
Another booth promotes livelihood program of Nuvali were they sell homegrown vegetables and bags made from recycled paper. I Love Earth also have workshops about help and wellness like yoga lessons. In my opinion, the best way to help the planet during this event is tree planting. For only one hundred pesos, you can plant trees provided and have a souvenir photo printed.
One booth explores innovative technology using solar panels and hydroelectricity. They will have a lecture about it on May 21. You can also be thought how to jam using indigenous instruments like the kubing, etc. Environmental advocacy group Greenpeace will provide information about their campaign. Althrough the event, there will be an ongoing art exhibit with an ecological theme. There's also an on-the-spot photo contest on May 28 -29.Details can be seen at http://www.pinoyphotography.org/greenperspective/PiPho_-_Nuvali_Photo_Contest_Green_Perspective.html
