E-Trikes In Cavite. Charging Stations for Electronic Vehicles Now Operational

Earlier this year, I was able to attend E-Vehicle Summit in Meralco. Drafting a resolution is one thing but making it a reality is another step. Now, I got to see myself that one step of that resolution is now a reality. At least in one region.

I went to V-Mall in Molino, Cavite to see the E-Trikes and the designated charging station. During the summit, I was able to ride a prototype E-Jeepney but it was within Meralco premises. Now, I was able to see what the E-Trike can do in the open road.

It can run as fast as any regular car on the highway. This E-Trike is assembled by K.E.A. It can accommodate 6 people including the driver sitting comfortably. But an tall person may still need to bend his/her torso. But unlike the regular tricycle, it can be put to reverse like a car.

As for the charging stations, it is also a waiting shed. You can charge the E-Trike like charging your mobile phone on a vending charger at a convenience store. Each E-Trike is equip with an plug like any household appliance so you can even charge your mobile devices there for P5 per 10 minutes.

The local government of Cavite purchased some E-Trikes to provide free transportation for their constituents with transactions in their City Hall. The rides are free but on limited time so it won't interfere with public tricycle operators.

K.E.A. will also operate E-Trikes as public transportation along the route of the charging stations. There are two charging stations so far. One in McDonald's at the end of  the Molino Road and one near V-Mall.

According to Mayor Strike Revilla, it's part of their campaign to go environment friendly starting with public transportation and the tricycle operators are open for that idea.

Electronic Vehicles is not new to public transportation. Makati already have shuttle within the business district. College of St. Benilde provides shuttle service transport for their students that loops in different building and facilities.

E-Vehicles may not be the final answer to pollution but at least it will lessen it because it does not smoke belch. It still depends on how people dispose raw materials. Hopefully, it will also change the lifestyle of public transportation operators and their drivers. Now, we are one step ahead to lessen the costs and pollution plus we are going less dependent of gasoline fuel. As the slogan says in Tagalog, "Walang GAStos."

- Four master manipulators use cunning psychological techniques to control unsuspecting subjects in THE MIND CONTROL FREAKS -

Prepare to be dazed and amazed by Discovery Channel’s brand new, original series, THE MIND CONTROL FREAKSThe 10-part series introduces four new experts to Discovery Channel as they expose the inner workings of the most familiar, beguiling and interesting topic in the world: our minds.  A man forgets his fiancée; strangers give away their car keys; a 230-pound boxer becomes unable to crush a polystyrene cup – see it to believe it on THE MIND CONTROL FREAKS, premiering on Discovery Channel on Wednesday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m.

THE MIND CONTROL FREAKS demonstrates how vulnerable we can all be to those who know how to manipulate us – no matter how strong-minded we believe we are. Employing a range of psychological techniques from hypnosis to peer pressure, conformity and obedience to authority – the show’s experts reveal that few of us are ever completely in control. Most of us are susceptible to some form of mind control and trickery and all of us have the power to learn how to influence others – and even become control freaks ourselves.

Featuring Liv Boeree, a world-class poker player with a degree in physics and plenty of feminine charm; Lewis Le Val, an expert in hypnosis and mentalism; Pete Wardell, considered one of the world’s finest sleight of hand experts and close-up magicians; and Alexis Conran as maestro of manipulation – THE MIND CONTROL FREAKS use clever psychological tricks and brilliant mind manipulation on unsuspecting members of the public to get them to do things they never thought they could or would. What’s more, these unsuspecting individuals have no idea that their actions are under someone else’s control.

How is the power of suggestion able to render a strong man as weak as a kitten? Is pain simply all in the mind? Can the heat from eating super-hot chillies be blocked out from the mind? How does possessing a supposed lucky charm instil confidence in one’s ability to be on a winning streak? Unravel the inner workings of the mind in THE MIND CONTROL FREAKS, which encores every Thursday at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

Garage Robbery
Pete and Alex stage a robbery and convince witnesses the wrong man carried out the crime. Lewis wins a bet that people can’t remember their PIN numbers and Liv proves how easy it is to miss something that is staring you right in the face.

Strength of Character
Liv and Lewis use the power of suggestion to render a strong man as weak as a kitten. Passers-by pepper spray a stranger on the street and Alex freaks out shoppers by selling clothes from the recently deceased.

Over My Dead Body
Pete and Alex test the comfort levels of unsuspecting workers when they have to work alongside a dead body. Lewis twists a man’s mind so he thinks Liv is his girlfriend – just in time for his real sweetheart to show up and confront him about her new rival.

Alex plays the great pretender in New York by posing as a stylist for the stars, and giving girls ridiculous makeovers they end up loving. Liv goes on a series of blind dates and hoodwinks some hapless Romeos by swapping with another girl during dinner, without the men even noticing.

Lucky Man
Alex explores people’s faith in luck. Through a series of rigged tests he identifies one person he thinks he can convince is in possession of a lucky charm that means he just can’t lose. After the subject experiences an incredible winning streak, will his belief in luck be strong enough to result in his risking a life-threatening injury?

Doctor Doctor
Lewis demonstrates that pain is all in the mind by allowing women to block out the heat from eating some super-hot chilies. Alex distributes a Wanted poster with his own face on it – but will busy Londoners even notice? Finally, Doctor Alex and Patient Pete spectacularly break the Hippocratic Oath when they demonstrate the power of the white lab coat.

Car Park
Lewis creates a Voodoo Doll and an unwitting subject ends up in pain. Alex persuades New Yorkers to hand over their car keys to him solely because he’s wearing a high visibility jacket. Pete’s on the streets of London showing the public that trusting faith over reason can prove costly.

Lewis and Liv hypnotise some job hunters so they can only tell the truth – then interview them for the job. Pete tests out the Bystander Effect by pretending to hide himself, a puppy and a baby in the trunk of a car. Alex uses DNA testing to reveal to New Yorkers what their personalities are like – but actually gives them all the same spiel.

Fiancée Phone Call
Lewis uses the power of suggestion to help people solve their first Rubik’s cube. Alex fools people into thinking they can smell his new perfume – even though it’s just plain water, and Liv convinces a stranger to lie to her boss.

Shock Treatment

Alex uses undercover stooges and some wickedly clever manipulation to persuade an unwitting contributor their moral compass has been removed by subliminal messaging. They then go on to explore how people behave when they believe they have no responsibility for their actions because they’re no longer in control of them.

BROKEN TAIL’S LAST JOURNEY documents the journey of life and death of a tiger destined for greatness. Broken Tail was born in Ranthambhore National Park in northern India, a vast, natural reserve that’s especially famous for its Bengal tigers. Historically revered in Indian tradition, tigers in the area were once protected by maharajahs, and then by government sanctuaries and conservation projects. But poachers have proven to be nearly unstoppable over the years, and tigers have struggled to survive, even with the protection of the park. Colin Stafford-Johnson and local guide, Salim Ali, spent over 600 days following and filming Broken Tail and his family, until it one day simply disappeared. A year later, Colin and Salim learnt that Broken Tail was killed by a train in Darra, 100 miles away from Ranthambhore. This discovery raised new questions. How did Broken Tail travel so far and why did he leave?

Premieres every Wednesday at 10:00 p.m., starting August 13. Encores every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

adidas Originals launches the ZX Flux in exciting colourways that capture everyone’s imagination

Manila, 1 August 2014 adidas Originals announced the launch of the adidas ZX Flux, a reincarnation of the iconic ZX 8000. Built with Torsion tooling, the adidas ZX Flux retains its predecessor’s much-loved heel cage and larger-than-life attitude.

Over the course of Fall/Winter 14, consumers can also expect to see different ZX Flux in exciting colourways and styles. Consumers will be enticed by the printed and woven patterns; while altered outsoles and tribute colourways will impress old and new sneakerheads alike.

The ZX Flux packs are available for purchase at PHP 4895 at leading adidas, sports and sneaker stores.

ZX Flux Base Tone

ZX Flux’s Base Pack’s technical feel can be attributed to its 2-tone mesh upper and welded TPU 3-Stripes execution.

The shoes’ stripped back modern design is balanced by the midsole’s colour blocking style, which is inspired by the ZX 8000 trainers. A simple colour palette is also available and consumers have the option of bright red or cobalt blue on a black and white midsole.

ZX Flux Print Pack

The Print Pack is full of intense, photo-real colours and the digitally printed upper of the ZX Flux is vividly captured on satin.

Leopard print has always been a crowd favourite and the interpretation comes in bold berry accents on the 3-Stripes mark and tongue label, while another model features a contemporary rush of watercolour print, which is anchored with black 3-Stripes and heel cage and a white tooling.

Minimal, smooth lines against gutsy prints, the ZX Print Pack is full of delightful contradictions.

ZX Flux Reflective Snake Print Pack

The versatility of the ZX Flux can also be seen in the reflective snake print pack, which manages to incorporate a number of ground-breaking features on one shoe.

While snakeskin print is not new to adidas, the technique used to create a reptilian effect on this model was used on the Superstar and Americana trainers. ZX Flux’s upper features three layers: a synthetic base, reflective print on top, and finally a mesh overlay, which gives it a slightly muted yet texturized feel.

Neon pop details can be seen throughout, on the distinctive heel cage, sockliner and embroidered tongue tag, while the laces complement the snake print perfectly.

KIDS ACTS Stages ALLADIN AND THE MAGIC LAMP at Star Theater with review

I first watched  a Kids Acts production when they run Mulan. Just like the previous one, they presented another story not based on Disney's version but the original story. What's good about this production was that they have catchy songs that kids can sing with.

There are also number of choruses that narrates each scene from the town folks that doubles depending on changes of scene locations. What's unique with the cast that the chorus also takes part of changing the scene background when the scene shifts to another place.

For the title role of Alladin, Noel Rayos did a wonderful job playing the part. He fitted perfectly portraying Alladin in this original story and not the street rat version. I've seen him performed in other productions and he can adapt in any role he plays. It's the first time I saw him sing solo.

It is also good to see Gian Gloria playing Alladin's love interest. I first watch her when she played Mulan.  Even though her character Princess Mona was not the protagonist unlike her role as Mulan, she was also significant to this story as it progresses.

Playing the part of the genie of the lamp is the most crucial part of the musical since it is very iconic because of Robin Williams portrayal.I got to ask the actor who played the part how he executed the part of the genie. He simply said he is a jolly person in real life and he simply put himself for the role of the genie.

I watched this on its preview run at St. Cecilia Hall in St. Scholastica's College. The story is simple for the children to understand and there are also family values to learn. It is also ideal for family and elementary schools to see. The music is also an original work for Kids Acts. Their regular run opens August 14 to 16, 2014(Thursday to Saturday) at Star Theater in Star City Complex at these times:10AM, 1PM, 4PM and 7PM for P450 per admission. LENS Blogs Visits The Set Of PURE LOVE

I got to visit the set of ABS-CBN's production of Pure Love. I got to see Arjo Atayde Joseph Marco, Matt Evans and Alex Gonzaga.
Pure Love's Matt Evans, Alex Gonzaga and Joseph Marco

Pure Love is based on a Korean TV drama of the same name. Korean series are very popular in Pinoy audience that the network gave its own version. According to Alex Gonzaga, the local fans of the original were not disappointed with the Pinoy version and they were thrilled about it.

Not much has changed from the original material and the changes are just minimal in perspective of the Philippine audience.

Matt Evans himself is a fan of the original Korean version that he had a marathon of the entire series in preparation of his character.
