360 Fitness Organizes Country’s First Circuit Training Marathon

360 Fitness Club, the country’s first co-ed express circuit training facility located in Ortigas Center is organizing a first: a unique racing experience that will challenge even the most experienced athletes and bring marathon racing to a whole new level.

Entitled “The 360-100PLUS Boot Camp Race,” the circuit training marathon will be held on October 24, 2010 at the Philsports Arena Track and Field Oval (formerly known as Ultra) from 6 to 10:00am.
This revolutionary event was designed by Chappy Callanta, Internationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and 360 Fitness Director.

Callanta states that there is a need for alternative forms of exercise. “If you are tired of the usual marathons, then come try this out,” Circuit training involves a series of exercises done continuously with minimal rest and is the program of choice for most athletes. Circuit training speeds up fat loss and creates lean muscle mass by combining strength training with cardiovascular exercises. Callanta designed 360 Fitness Club’s signature 360 circuit training program to burn 500 calories in just 30 minutes, and the Boot Camp will no doubt burn as much calories.

Each of the exercises targets the core area to promote tighter abdomens, but at the same time engages all of the body’s major muscle groups. 360 takes boredom out of the equation by removing the repetitiveness common in most exercise programs and marathons. Participants will experience a total body workout like no other and will have fun doing it. “We’re taking the 360 Circuit outdoors and supersizing it,” says Callanta.

The Boot Camp will feature 8 different stations where participants will have to perform a unique exercise using free weights and special equipment. The circuit will also feature a TRX (Total Resistance Exercise) station, where participants will engage in suspension training and perform exercises using their own body resistance. “It’s a refreshing change from your usual marathon,” states Callanta, “but that doesn’t mean it’s any easier.” There will be three levels of difficulty catering to beginner, elite, and expert marathoners.

Participants will vie for the best time in each of the three difficulty levels where cash prizes of three, five, and seven thousand pesos are in store for the lucky winners. Special gifts from 100 Plus, Globe GCash, BarleyGreen, MuscleTape, L-Carnitine Gold, and Finix will also be given as tokens of appreciation, and gift bags are in store for all participants.

360 Fitness Club specializes in a 30 minute circuit training workout where every session is a coached session. The club also offers group exercise classes such as Power Yoga, Striptease, TRX Classes, Kickboxing, Hip-hop dance classes, and more. One-on-one training is also available for those who wish to train for marathons or improve performance in a specific sport.
