NEW ADIDAS ALPHASKIN PERFORMANCE LAYER DITCHES DISTRACTIONS TO HELP ATHLETES RAISE THEIR GAME

Press release

The new design eliminates distracting seams to help athletes focus on their performance in competition and training.

PHILIPPINES, 3 January 2018 – Today adidas revolutionizes base layer technology to empower athletes in training and competition with the launch of Alphaskin.

While today’s athletes reach unprecedented peaks of performance, they also require unprecedented levels of focus. The kinetic wrapped design of adidas Alphaskin eliminates unwanted distractions by moving with the critical areas of athletes in motion.

Unlike traditional base layers, each section of Alphaskin is carefully constructed to match the body’s movements in sport. By removing unnatural friction between the fabric and skin, athletes wearing Alphaskin are able to fully focus on delivering in training and competition.
Rob Lee, Vice President of design for adidas Training said: “We’re committed to creating only the best for athletes and that’s exactly what we’ve done with the disruptive design of Alphaskin. After taking a deep dive into their movements, needs and culture, we created a performance layer that keeps up with all of those elements.

Alphaskin was made to enable and move with athletes’ bodies while they compete or train and help eliminate the unwanted distractions of base layers from the past. By using our highly advanced ARAMIS system instead of a traditional static mannequin for testing, we were able to understand how to make Alphaskin and athlete’s bodies move as one. This allowed us to create a wrapped performance layer that truly dials into the movements of athletes across all sports.”

Damian Lillard, Point Guard, Portland said: “As soon as I put Alphaskin on, I’m ready to step on the court. I feel locked in and ready to work when I’m wearing it.”

Alphaskin offers kinetic wrapping in a range of compression levels that suit each athlete’s personal preference.

ALPHASKIN 360
-        Alphaskin’s highest compression for a locked-in feel.
-        Flat, bonded reflective seams provide a distraction-free fit.

Zero distractions with adidas Dame 4

Press release

zero distractions
DAME 4. CONFIRMED.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - October 2017 – Love it or hate it… you know what time it is. adidas took on the challenge of creating zero distractions with the Dame 4, elevating the importance of all day comfort without losing sight of on-court durability and Damian Lillard’s Oakland grit.

The model is seamlessly designed to eliminate on-court distractions while ensuring sock-like comfort and fastened stability as Dame attacks the opposition. A ventilated mesh upper delivers a new flow on-court, paired with lace cables for a reinforced fit that maximizes breathability.

Full-length BOUNCE cushioning is optimized for ultimate court feel and superior comfort for the everyday hustle. Designed with unique grooves for creating space against defenders, an evolved traction pattern is reworked as a nod to Dame’s quick cuts and hard drives to the basket.

Detailing his life’s journey in the game and capturing his most influential moments on the court, signature time stamps are etched across the lace-band:

·         35.12 – Breakout game stats that put Damian on coaches’ maps in high school
·         25.6.4 – Nation-leading stats that got Dame noticed during his final season at Weber State
·         6 – Selected as the No. 6 overall pick and averaged 19 points, 6.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game to earn 2013 Rookie of the Year
·         0.9 – With just .9 seconds remaining on the clock, Dame drained a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer in 2014 and Dame Time was officially born
·         0 – 0% chance critics gave Dame on his journey from Oakland to Ogden to Oregon

Full-length BOUNCE cushioning converges with the outsole, visually treated as a musical waveform that represents Dame D.O.L.L.A.’s passion for hip-hop. YKWTII is displayed on the heel as a message to all the doubters, reminding them “You Know What Time It Is.” DAME CERTIFIED is featured on the sockliner with the motto “Patience Persistence Purpose” to further exude Dame’s unrelenting attitude.

Dame 4 is now available for P5995 in http://shop.adidas.com.ph, leading adidas stores, and select retailers.

adidas Football Launches Third Kits Created By Fans for 2017/18 Season

Press release

- FC Bayern, Real Madrid CF, Manchester United, Juventus, AC Milan and Flamengo reveal third kits designed by fans -
- Third kits created and produced as part of adidas Football Creator Studio, a digital platform giving fans the chance to design the shirts of these iconic clubs -
- Third kits will be worn during the 17/18 season -

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – adidas on July 21 revealed the third kits for FC Bayern Munich, Real Madrid CF, Manchester United, Juventus, AC Milan & Flamengo for the 2017/18 season, all designed by fans. The new designs were designed and produced using the adidas Football Creator Studio platform, channelling and celebrating the creativity of football fans all over the world.

The Creator Studio platform allowed fans the opportunity to design the third kits for the above six clubs – the ultimate expression of fan creativity. All submitted kits were voted on by fans in a ‘battlemode’ that saw the most popular kits shortlisted to a top 100. The winners for each club were then chosen by an expert panel of some of the clubs most iconic players. The selected kits – which will be worn on-pitch during the 2017/18 season – are:

FC Bayern
The kit represents a modern inversion on classic elements of FC Bayern kit design. The white jersey features thin red stripes down the front of the shirt, fading out as they reach the bottom. Pure white sleeves give it a clean and totally unique look for a FC Bayern shirt, while still channelling classic colours and design from the club’s history.

Real Madrid CF
The new third kit brings a truly unique and creative look to this iconic team. The winning design features a predominantly teal shirt with black stripes on the shoulder and white branding. The design takes inspiration from modern digital design, with a square graphic pattern in two corners breaking up the front of the shirt and representing the disruptive nature of the reigning European Champions.

Manchester United
The United third kit represents the powerful bond between the team and its fans. The light grey shirt is designed with a graphic showing the silhouette of the famous ‘Holy Trinity’ statue outside of the club’s Old Trafford stadium. The statue of club icons Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law represents a golden era in the club’s history and it is this unique history that was the inspiration for the new third kit.

Juventus
The Juventus kit combines the past and the future in a way perfectly suited to an iconic club that is constantly re-inventing itself on and off the pitch. The shirt channels the past thanks to a military green colour and the inclusion of the famous Juventus black and white stripes across the chest. The shirt brings the club right up to date though, thanks to the inclusion of the club’s sleek new logo – part of its new ‘Black and White and More’ brand identity.

The Manchester United third kit will be available at Bootcamp, adidas Trinoma, and adidas Greenbelt on the 28th of July. It will retail at P3495.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS CELEBRATES THE CAMPUS SHOE WITH A NEW CAMPAIGN: NO TIME TO THINK

Press release

- adidas Originals celebrates the Campus shoe: the most raw and authentic, classic icon  -
- Introducing the new faces of the Campus shoe, the fearless cast behind
the No Time to Think Campaign –
- adidas Originals connects with the downtown culture to inspire creative intuition -

Manila, Philippines – adidas Originals is celebrating its most raw and authentic classic icon, the Campus silhouette. A shoe that was claimed for the street from sport, the suede style with the 3-Stripes mark embodies a fearless spirit. Connecting to the creative intuition of the downtown scene, Originals collaborates with Blondey McCoy, Na-Kel Smith, Tavia Bonetti and Tiffany Lighty to celebrate the brave, bold attitude of the Campus shoe in the No Time to Think campaign.

No Time to Think was inspired by the downtown scene of New York in the early 90’s, a time defined by an intuitive approach to creativity, and made up of creative trailblazers. As a group, they set the pace for identifying what it means to be original, removing all inhibitions and acting out of pure instinct. Turning to a new creative set, who are linked to the downtown scene and skate culture, Blondey, Na-Kel, Tavia and Tiffany represent the faces of the Campus shoe. Photographer Kenneth Capello, a fixture to the downtown scene himself, captures the free-spirited, fearless intuition of this cast of creators in their natural habitat. Turning to a crew who are always doing it their way, this group identifies with the raw, honest attitude of the street today.

Since being introduced in the 1980’s, with its roots in sport, the Campus shoe became the coveted shoe off the basketball court. Debuting in a bold palette of burgundy and green, the shoe was a favourite amongst the emerging downtown creative scene. Today, the Campus shoe continues to embody the original raw, authentic and straightforward attitude, but re-imagined with a new relevancy. The classic trefoil logo is celebrated with a new narrative, encouraging a new community to act without hesitation and to not think twice.

The still image and video campaign premieres globally with footwear launching June 15th at adidas locations worldwide and on http://shop.adidas.com.ph/originals/campus.html The Campus footwear range retails from P4,795 to P5,495, depending on the style, and are available at leading adidas stores and retailers.

Take on the city with adidas PureBOOST DPR, engineered to deliver a raw, real and adaptive street running experience

Press release

- adidas’ latest PureBOOST innovation delivers an immersive urban running experience
- Dropped low and wide, it takes runners closer to the streets
- Signature BOOST technology with a new 8mm head-to-toe offset stores and unleashes energy more effectively

adidas reveals its latest addition to the PureBOOST franchise that launched earlier this year, the new PureBOOST DPR - an  innovation engineered to take runners closer to the city streets. Made for runners whose unafraid attitude makes no urban environment unconquerable, the new agile and adaptive design features the latest application of adidas’ industry leading Boost technology, with a new 8mm heel-to-toe offset. Creating a natural Boost platform that stores and unleashes energy more effectively every time it hits the ground, the shoe enables runners to truly ‘feel’ the streets.

When developing PureBOOST DPR, adidas looked at the needs of the urban runner and designed a shoe that is as dynamic and adaptable as they are. PureBOOST DPR was created to support runners in dodging traffic, racing street lights and weaving through pedestrians, working with the unpredictable surroundings and harnessing its energy.

Stephan Schneider, product manager, adidas Global Running said: “All over the world, runners are exploring cities and expressing their own creativity in the routes they choose and the challenges they take on. We wanted to build something purely designed for this type of runner, and loved the idea of creating a more adaptive running experience. This led us to design an 8mm heel-to-offset, that when paired with signature Boost technology allows the feet to sit lower, deeper, and much closer to the streets.”

The shoe’s key features include:

-          One-piece engineered circular knit upper - Aramis-tested for a seamless and adaptive fit, wrapping the foot from the inside of the midfoot around to the outside. Providing comfort no matter the route or obstacle.
-          Heel fit counter system - designed to enhance the support of the foot and the Achilles, allowing the foot to move effortlessly with the shoe.
-          Wider forefoot - providing a more stable platform that tailors itself in the pivotal moments of transition when running over varied urban surfaces and around corners.
-          Stretchweb outsole - enabling a smoother and more flexible ride, working in harmony with Boost to unleash a runner’s full potential.
-          BOOST - ultra-responsive comfort and cushioning that stores and returns energy every time the foot hits the ground.

The adidas PureBOOST DPR retails for P7,495 at http://shop.adidas.com.ph/running/, Commonwealth, and Sole Academy. Follow the conversation at @adidasrunning on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook using #PureBOOST.
