Press release

- FC Bayern, Real Madrid CF, Manchester United, Juventus, AC Milan and Flamengo reveal third kits designed by fans -
- Third kits created and produced as part of adidas Football Creator Studio, a digital platform giving fans the chance to design the shirts of these iconic clubs -
- Third kits will be worn during the 17/18 season -

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – adidas on July 21 revealed the third kits for FC Bayern Munich, Real Madrid CF, Manchester United, Juventus, AC Milan & Flamengo for the 2017/18 season, all designed by fans. The new designs were designed and produced using the adidas Football Creator Studio platform, channelling and celebrating the creativity of football fans all over the world.

The Creator Studio platform allowed fans the opportunity to design the third kits for the above six clubs – the ultimate expression of fan creativity. All submitted kits were voted on by fans in a ‘battlemode’ that saw the most popular kits shortlisted to a top 100. The winners for each club were then chosen by an expert panel of some of the clubs most iconic players. The selected kits – which will be worn on-pitch during the 2017/18 season – are:

FC Bayern
The kit represents a modern inversion on classic elements of FC Bayern kit design. The white jersey features thin red stripes down the front of the shirt, fading out as they reach the bottom. Pure white sleeves give it a clean and totally unique look for a FC Bayern shirt, while still channelling classic colours and design from the club’s history.

Real Madrid CF
The new third kit brings a truly unique and creative look to this iconic team. The winning design features a predominantly teal shirt with black stripes on the shoulder and white branding. The design takes inspiration from modern digital design, with a square graphic pattern in two corners breaking up the front of the shirt and representing the disruptive nature of the reigning European Champions.

Manchester United
The United third kit represents the powerful bond between the team and its fans. The light grey shirt is designed with a graphic showing the silhouette of the famous ‘Holy Trinity’ statue outside of the club’s Old Trafford stadium. The statue of club icons Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law represents a golden era in the club’s history and it is this unique history that was the inspiration for the new third kit.

Juventus
The Juventus kit combines the past and the future in a way perfectly suited to an iconic club that is constantly re-inventing itself on and off the pitch. The shirt channels the past thanks to a military green colour and the inclusion of the famous Juventus black and white stripes across the chest. The shirt brings the club right up to date though, thanks to the inclusion of the club’s sleek new logo – part of its new ‘Black and White and More’ brand identity.

The Manchester United third kit will be available at Bootcamp, adidas Trinoma, and adidas Greenbelt on the 28th of July. It will retail at P3495.

adidas launches the Creator Studio giving young fans the chance to design third kits for world’s biggest clubs

Press release

- Real Madrid, FC Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Juventus, AC Milan and Flamengo part of adidas’ new digital design experience -
- Creator Studio can be accessed by anyone, including stars from adidas’ global roster -
- Winning designs will be used as clubs’ third jerseys for 2017/18 season -

9th August 2016 – adidas has today launched an initiative giving football fans around the world a unique chance to design the third jersey for some of the world’s biggest football clubs.

Called the Creator Studio, the digital platform will give fans the chance to be responsible for the third shirts that will be worn by some of the best players in the world at Real Madrid, FC Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Juventus, AC Milan and Flamengo.

Fans will be able to upload and share their design online with their community through the Creator Studio, and use it as a platform to campaign for votes. Once the designs have been submitted the kits will enter Battle Mode, where fans will be given the chance to vote for their favourite kit. The kits with the most likes will be entered into a top 100 gallery per club.

The winning shirt for each team will be decided by a judging panel of some of the clubs’ most iconic players, with the winning kits going into production as the official third jersey to be worn on pitch by each team during the 2017/18 season.

Real Madrid star, Gareth Bale, said of the Creator Studio: “It’s an amazing opportunity for fans from all over the world to make their mark on their favourite club, and to be a part of the club’s history. Madrid fans are some of the most passionate in the world and I’m particularly excited to see what the club’s winning kit design looks like.”

This is the first time that adidas has put the design of its clubs’ kits into the hands of fans, providing supporters and aspiring designers with an opportunity to be a part of sporting history.

Markus Baumann, General Manager Football at adidas said: “We are giving people a blank canvas and allowing them to create something exciting and unique. The Creator Studio is an opportunity for fans to become part of the history of some of the biggest global clubs; it’s a true first. We hope the idea of seeing their design on field next year, being worn by the players and by fans around the world, will fuel imagination and creativity.”

The Creator Studio is a mobile-optimised experience, allowing fans to submit designs on the go as well as from desktop computers. The digital experience allows creators to design the jersey of each club but excludes the shorts or socks.
