Advent

The last Sunday of November marks the Advent, the start of the Christmas season. Advent means arrival. Though there are already bazaars and Christmas rushes, I still don't feel the Christmas spirit. I still have to wait the day itself. Besides, Christmas is not the only important day in Christiandom. There are things I don't like about Christmas like assembling our old tree. It's not because it's a hassle, it is hard to manage and heavy. It also doesn't have relevance to the birth of Jesus Christ. It's considered pagan by Biblical scholars. I remember the Supernatural episode where a pair of bloodthirsty pagan demigods pretending like a regular old couple sells hand-made wooden decoration that symbolizes the next victims of their sacrificial rituals. Just keep reminding myself or anybody who reads this that there's more to this season than just commercialism.
