FOLLOW HIP-HOP ARTIST DANIEL “HUSH” CARLISLE AS HE FIGHTS TO SAVE STRAY CANINES… ONE DOG AT A TIME

- A group of passionate individuals rallies to tackle Detroit’s homeless dog dilemma –

Award-winning rapper Daniel “Hush” Carlisle and his homegrown pack of friends and family are on a mission to clean up Detroit, one homeless hound at a time. Together with his tight-knit crew, Hush – who is the co-founder of Detroit Dog Rescue (DDR) – braves rough streets, dodgy buildings and gnashing teeth to rescue destitute mutts, many of which have been abandoned due to Detroit’s destitute economic situation. The 60-minute special brings to light the concerning number of stray dogs running loose on the streets of Detroit and the insufficient resources, funding, rescue workers, foster homes or people who are willing to adopt them. DETROIT UNLEASHED: MOTOR CITY premieres Wednesday, January 21 at 11:00 p.m. Encores Thursday, January 22 at 5:00 p.m.

From working with the industry’s best musicians and scoring a series of music hits, to getting dogs off the streets, Hush is Detroit’s renaissance man – artiste, father and now the “hip-hop dog catcher” as Co-Founder and Executive Director of DDR. Hush’s love for his hometown and for man’s best friend are the forces driving his quest to end the displaced dog situation. As the city’s first no-kill centre, DDR’s key focus is driving awareness for the plight of the forgotten, vagrant and abandoned dogs of Motor City. In addition to rescuing dogs, DDR also runs community outreach programmes such as helping less fortunate owners – who otherwise couldn’t afford to – care for their dogs, in addition to educating people about the importance of spaying and neutering.

DETROIT UNLEASHED: MOTOR CITY documents Hush and his dedicated team’s unwavering determination to make a difference in the lives of as many of these four-legged friends as possible. Despite the many obstacles faced along the way, the team is devoted to locating a safe, loving home for every stray, including canines that other rescue groups consider too aggressive to be adopted. Join DDR on their mission to get these dogs the care and respect they deserve, in DETROIT UNLEASHED: MOTOR CITY
