Learn the craft of the world's top designers at the adobo Design Series and D&AD Workshop

PRESS RELEASE:

Design professionals, enthusiasts, and students who want to showcase their cutting-edge designs or want to further hone their craft can still join by the 2017 adobo Design Awards Asia (aDAA) as they extended the deadline of entries until 20 March 2017.

Now running on its 8th year, aDAA will once again be presenting the adobo Design Series and the D&AD Workshop, supported by D&AD of London—the world's toughest design awards—for the second straight year.
aDAA has 20 Professional Categories that include: Press and Poster, Corporate/Brand Identity, Typography, Illustration, Book Design, Magazine and Newspaper Design, Film Advertising, Videos, Short Film, Film/Video Craft, Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Outdoor, Environmental/Spatial, Product Design, Wearable Design, Production Design, Photography, Digital/Interactive, and Mobile. The Open Category calls for new work that responds to a brief based on this year's theme "Inspiring Humanity Through Design". The Mobile App for Social Good category, on the other hand, will recognize entries in the mobile app category that presents creative solutions to social issues or problems.

aDAA not only trains the spotlight on the region’s best designers, but also provides them the opportunity to learn from design masters in a series of talks and workshops. The D&AD Workshop will feature hands-on sessions where the participants themselves innovate, make, and play, with each stage an hour-long session.

Adobo Design Series and D&AD Workshop
On March 29, the adobo Design Series presents a full day of inspiring design talks by the adobo Design Awards Asia 2017 jury led by D&AD president Bruce Duckworth and includes fellow aDAA jurors Harvey Tolibao, CJ De Silva-Ong, Quark Henares, Wawi Navarroza and Patrick Cabral. D&AD resident trainer Alex Lampe also participates with a short talk on the Internet of Things.

On March 30, Alex Lampe returns to conduct the D&AD Workshop "From Zero to Hero: Creating Connected Emotive Experiences," an interactive conference, lecture, and workshop on creating experiences that connect with people in the world of technology, from 9am to 3pm. Alex Lampe is the creative director and co-founder of Wiedemann Lampe, an international, inter- platform brand consultancy in London, and course leader for D&AD. He has won numerous design awards including including DBA Inclusive Design Challenge, Design Week Awards, D&AD, and New York Art Directors Club, to name a few. He shares his insights into the human, emotional drivers behind the technology and how we might approach designing experiences around it.
