Samsung and Yuchengco Museum conclude Instagram contest, pay tribute to late nationalist sculptor Eduardo Castrillo

Emman Foronda (@emmanforonda) and Jet Velas (@jetvelas) each won a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and a Gear VR for submitting the best entry for the Professional and the Open Category respectively. Their winning photos are to be featured on Culture Explorer, a mobile application that uses augmented reality technology to help people, especially the youth, learn about historical landmarks in the Philippines.

All runner-ups of the two categories each got to take home a Samsung Galaxy A5 2016.

The awarding took place at the Yuchengco Museum, during the opening of the exhibition Eduardo Castrillo @ 50: Moving the Legacy Forward, which pays homage to the nationalist sculptor’s contributions to the art industry. The display may be viewed until 24 November 2016.

Android users can download the Culture Explorer application from Google Play Store for free, to view 360° images of monuments, churches and plazas located across the country, and gain a deeper insight on the Philippines’ rich heritage.
