Neymar Jr’s Five Finals

MANILA, Philippines - Neymar Jr’s Five is the Brazilian forward’s signature football tournament which pits five-a-side teams in head-to-head in 10-minute matches with a twist. Every time one team scores, the opposition loses a player. It’s fast, technical, and tactical.

Why:   To crown the Philippines’ first-ever Neymar Jr’s Five National Champion. The winning team will fly to Brazil to represent the Philippines against 53 other countries at the World Championships!

Adidas Cup

Thanks to the universities, Filipinos now enjoy football even though we are considered a basketball country. It even got more hype when cable TV now plays international sports events like the World Cup.

Now, there are more than just one football clinics. In one of the football festivals I attended recently, I got to interview a girl football player and she even showed that she can compete with any boy at the field.

Last July 3, not only that I witnessed that our local teams can also play against any team from abroad, they also showed that not even the rains can stop them from playing for fun. That only means football is here to stay. Here are the results of the recent Adidas Cup at the Gatorade Blue Pitch in Circuit Makati.

Women Can Play Football Too in P.I.A.: Pinay In Action

Who says football is only a man's sport? One time, I got to interview a young girl who is part of the team dominated by boys. Seeing her in action shows that she can play along pretty good with fellow male team mates.

In P.I.A.(Pinay In Action), it also shows that there are already a lot of girls playing football especially in schools who have football fields that also offers the sport as an option for Physical Education classes.

This only means that football is no longer an exclusive sports like basketball and baseball. Here are the results of the all-women 3-on-3 football festival organized by Sen. Pia Cayetano. 24 teams participated during the two-day event at Bonifacio High Street last February 13 to 14.

World’s largest youth football program enters finals in PH

Manila, Philippines—The first Coca-Cola Cup in the Philippines culminates on 6 December and football aficionados are looking forward to an exciting, spirited match. Two teams of 18 are set to meet each other in the local finale of the world’s largest grassroots football program for the youth.

Dream Big Pilipinas Futbol Academy, Loyola Meralco Sparks Footbal Club and the local city of Taguig opened the officially opened the Coca-Cola Cup. The Coca-Cola Cup, which piloted locally in Taguig City last November, aspires to bring about the same team spirit, friendship and respect that the Coca-Cola Cup has fostered among 1.4 million other teenage players in over 60 countries around the world since it started in Zimbabwe back in 1995.  Over the past few weeks, Filipino youth have participated in a series of football clinics ran with the help of partners, Manila Electric Futbol Club, Inc. (MEFCI) and Dream Big Pilipinas Football Association (DBPFA).
