The Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) Champions of Social Responsibility (CHAMP) turns over check donation to WWF-Philippines bancas project led by President Bong Osorio (5th from left) during the recent PRSP General Membership Meeting (GMM) PR Forum at the Manila Polo Club. Receiving the P30,000 donation is Michelle Mohinani (WWF-Philippines Vice President for Marketing and head of Bancas for the Philippines project). Flanking them are (left to right) Louie Banta (DMCI), Nix Morales, Joyette Perez (Weber Shandwick), Gina Lumauig (GK/Manila Restop), Juris Soliman (SMIC and PRSP Treasurer/Chair of CSR Committee), Cedi Cutanda (Bayer Phils.), and Gizelle Camua (PruLife). The donation will support two fiberglass bancas and will provide fisherfolk with the resources to build bancas to jumpstart self-sufficiency. Typhoon Yolanda destroyed about 30,000 bancas depriving some 145,000 artisanal and commercial fisherfolks of their livelihoods.
