Joseph & Jaemark’s Family Grill

Joseph & Jaemark's Family Grill opened in Quezon City just last November. It was my first time to have my dining experience there. But don't be fooled by its looks because the food there is not what you expect in a grill restaurant like this. For appetizers, we were treated first the Catfish Salad. It was very crunchy and the green mango strips were not really sour. Then, a full blast main course. I first started with the halaan soup. I was then introduced to a new dish called Stuffed Pechay. The sauce was so delicious as I savor the pechay stuffed with pork.

I proceeded with the ginataang kuhol and showed fellow bloggers how to eat one with toothpick and the traditional Pinoy way. The traditional way is still the best way. You only need to know how to breathe in using your mouth. This is how homey Joseph & Jaemark's is. If you can eat with your hands, you can do it there especially since kuhol is not easy to eat with just using your fork and spoon.

The grilled fishes are one of the specialties of Joseph & Jaemark's. They don't waste parts here because the whole fish can be eaten from panga(mouth) to buntot(tail) and they taste like you were eating a crispy pata(grilled pig's leg) and is much healthier. The fishes don't even have an aftertaste. The grilled dishes can match with your beer. The best part of eating a grilled fish is that you can eat the skin like it was part of the fish meat. If you know how to eat a fish, I guarantee that you will leave the plate dry.

I was also introduced to Chef Mars. Chef Mars is not like your usual chef that appears with the usual chef attire but he had experience cooking in hotels and a cruise ship in Miami. He didn't even studied in a culinary school. He got his training at home and started as waiter before he became a cook. He said that he does the selection from the market himself and has this knack of buying the best food he can serve at the grill. He even demonstrated to us which part the best eaten. They also served it with their original sauces.

The atmosphere is really as homey as I said and it has an open area were you can chill and hang out like in a bistro. Ideal for the working class in the area and you don't need to go to a mall for inconvenience. Joseph & Jaemark's is now located at 5 Sgt. Esguerra st., Diliman, Quezon City and is open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 to 11:00 PM. You may also arrange the grill for special activity. For inquiries, call 410-TUNA(8862).
