TUNE HOTELS ZOMBIE BUSTERS @ LIVINGSOCIAL ZOMBIE RUN 2013

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 November 2013 – Tune Hotels deployed a number of ‘Zombie Busters’ who gave away Tune Hotels stay vouchers to lucky runners participating in the LivingSocial Zombie Run 2013 held in Petaling Jaya last night (Saturday, 16 November 2013).

The Tune Hotels Zombie Busters were stationed at random locations along the running route and runners who successfully spotted and identified the right Tune Hotels ‘Zombie Buster’ received a two-day, one-night stay voucher at selected Tune Hotels in Malaysia and Bali, Indonesia. Together with the hotel voucher, they also received a ‘life flag’ that would help them continue to finish the race.

The LivingSocial Zombie Run 2013 is a five-kilometre marathon over a route around Petaling Jaya infested with ‘zombies’. Participant’s goal was not only making it to the finish line but to keep one’s life flags from being captured by the hundreds of zombies lurking throughout the route.

Apart from Tune Hotels, the LivingSocial Zombie Run is sponsored by Everlast, Kai Image Academy for professional zombie make-up, Mehron Zombie Make up Product, Revive, MyTeksi.com and TRON.

Aboitiz Foundation raises Php 30 million from mega star Sharon Cuneta and Union Bank of the Philippines

Aboitiz Foundation, the group’s social development arm, has also already raised Php 30 million pesos, thanks to pledges of support from both internal and external sources.  Mega star Sharon Cuneta has pledged Php 5 million pesos via twitter to the foundation, while Union Bank of the Philippines, the group’s banking arm has also pledged Php 25 million pesos.

In her tweet the actress said she is giving Php 5 million pesos to Aboitiz Foundation and another Php 5 million to Alagang Kapatid, ABC Channel 5’s foundation. “ This is how much I believe in you both. God bless Visayas”, she said.

The Php 30 million pesos worth of total pledges supports Aboitiz Foundation’s current relief efforts in the Visayas for victims of super typhoon Yolanda, where it has set up a command center.  The foundation is currently conducting an assessment of the needs in Leyte while already transporting relief packs and hygiene kits to 6,500 families in the hardest hit areas in Northern Cebu.

Aboitiz Foundation sets up command center in Visayas to help victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda

The Aboitiz Foundation, the social development arm of the Aboitiz Group has set up a command center in Cebu to help in the assessment of damage in the Visayas and extend assistance to victims of super typhoon Yolanda. 

Initially, the foundation will extend assistance to 6,500 families in the hardest hit areas in Northern Cebu and give out basic essentials such as water, rice, canned goods, noodles and biscuits as well as hygiene kits.  A separate team is going to Leyte along with representatives from the Aboitiz group’s various business units to conduct a separate assessment of the most urgent needs  in that area.

“After just recently being hit by a devastating earthquake, the region has now been plagued by another calamity. But  we are confident that with everyone’s support,  Visayas can rise above this as it did in the past ”, said Aboitiz Foundation Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Sonny Carpio.
