Press release

Top Rank gives Solar Sports sole broadcast rights for Pacquiao vs Vargas

Through an official correspondence from Top Rank’s General Counsel Harrison Whitman, the sole broadcast of the upcoming in-ring bout between People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao and Jessie Vargas has been formally established.

It states: “This letter confirms that MP Promotions USA, the co‐promoter for the November 5, 2016 Pacquiao v. Vargas event, possesses the sole right to license the broadcast of the event in the territory of the Philippines.”

Solar Sports, in partnership with MP Promotions USA, has been the official broadcaster of Manny Pacquiao fights here in the Philippines since 2003, so this development does not come as a surprise for most boxing fans. The only eight-division world champion in boxing history is all set to make his in-ring return when Manny Pacquiao faces Jessie Vargas for the WBO Welterweight Championship on November 5 (US time) at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Witness our very own Manny Pacquiao write another chapter in his legendary career on November 6, Sunday at 9 AM VIA SATELLITE on Solar Sports!
